Aldi store to come at Marina Quay, Rhyl

An application has been submitted for a detailed planning consent by Scarborough for a 18,567 sq ft Aldi store at its £25m Marina Quay development on the seafront in Rhyl, North Wales.

If approved, Aldi would relocate from its current site within the town centre to the 132,000 sq ft retail and leisure development and to expand their store in the process. Existing Aldi jobs will be retained and additional jobs will be created at the new supermarket.

Jack Abou-Jaoude, Development Manager of Scarborough International Properties, said: “We are extremely excited about the prospect of opening a new Aldi store at Marina Quay. We have worked hard to deliver an accessible and larger store for local residents. The planning consent will enable us to create local employment opportunities in the local area and provide consumers with even more choice. We look forward to progressing the scheme."

Pending planning consent from Denbighshire County Council, construction will commence later in 2018.
