I grew up in South-West London with my sister and parents where I have many happy memories. One such memory was visiting, on a regular basis, a dear old couple at the end of our road. They lived in what I thought was a huge Victorian house but only recently it transpired it was a ground floor flat. We only ever saw their front room, as it is where they went most of their days. They were both very frail and welcomed guests with open arms. My mum initially would have to drag us, as visiting elderly people at the age of seven seemed unnerving to us. However, after a while we enjoyed their company, especially the cakes and lemonade.

Alas, the years took their toll on the husband who sadly passed away. We still visited Megan whom on the odd occasion joined us when walking our dog. She was all alone with no relatives and friends apart from her carers and us.
