eMoov releases Property Hotspots Index for Q1 2015

Online estate agent, eMoov.co.uk, has released its latest Property Hotspots Index for the first quarter of 2015. The research monitors the change in supply and demand for the most populated locations across the UK, by monitoring the total number of properties sold in comparison to those on sale.

According to the firm, the South dominates the top ten hottest spots, while the North accounts for nine out of ten of the highest climbers over the last three months. It reports: ‘The London Borough of Bexley has been dethroned from the number one spot, where it has sat since February 2014. Although it still finished a reputable sixth in the standings, Bexley (62%) has been ousted by Sutton, which tops the league table with a demand for property at 67%.

‘The two London Hotspots are joined in the top ten by a number of other outer London boroughs and commuter friendly towns, with quick and improving transport links into the heart of the capital. The other locations in the top ten included Cambridge (66%), Watford (64%), Bristol (63%), Reading (63%), Guildford (59%), Aylesbury (57%), Havering (57%) and Hillingdon (56%).

‘The North West that has seen the most marked improvement. The top ten Hotspots that have enjoyed the biggest turn around in demand since December are for the most part located in the North West. Sefton has enjoyed the greatest improvement in demand, up a huge 80% since the December Hotspots Index. It is joined in the top ten highest climbers by Huddersfield (+56%), Trafford (+24%), Bradford (+23%), Stoke-on-Trent (+21%), Bolton (+21%) and Warrington (+19%).’
