First phase of Northwick Park transformation underway

Network Homes has exchanged contracts with Countryside Partnerships in a joint venture to begin construction of 654 new homes and commercial facilities at Northwick Park in Brent, as part of the first stage of a major regeneration project.

Work on this first phase has already begun and upon completion will deliver 323 affordable homes (50% of tenures) including London Affordable Rent, London Living Rent, Intermediate Rent (for key workers) and Shared Ownership. The remaining homes will be for private sale or rent.

David Gooch, Network Homes Executive Director for Development, said:” I’m really pleased we’ve exchanged contracts with Countryside to get this fantastic project underway. This development will bring much needed new affordable homes to the area and by doing so we’re fulfilling one of Network Home’s strategic objectives of increasing the number of homes for people in housing need. It will also deliver new jobs, improved infrastructure and better public spaces to Northwick Park.”

The overall regeneration of Northwick Park will eventually provide 1,600 new homes, delivered over multiple phases. The scheme will also see significant new public amenity space as well as student facilities, commercial space, and a new nursery.

Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, said: "Not only will this development provide 323 genuinely affordable homes in Brent, supporting our aim of building a fairer and more prosperous London for everyone, it will deliver improved infrastructure, new student facilities, commercial space and a nursey for local children.”

The first phase will not impact existing properties at Northwick Park and will provide a wide variety of new affordable homes which local keyworkers will also have an opportunity to live in. There will also be extensive further consultation with current residents before work on further phases begin. There are no confirmed dates of when construction on these phases is likely to begin.
