New homes and supermarket set for Preston

HOW Planning has secured detailed planning approval, on behalf of Prospect GB, for the first phase of residential development comprising of 113 new homes and has also secured planning permission for a 1,739sqm Aldi foodstore.

The new Aldi scheme at the site on Whittingham Road, Longridge, represents a multi-million pound investment that will create up to 50 new jobs.

Alexandra Eatough, Senior Planner at HOW Planning said: “Securing planning approval is a fantastic result, paving the way for a partially brownfield site to be redeveloped into a high quality retail scheme. The significant investment by Aldi will not only enhance the visual appearance of the area and support the new residential development, but it will also create local jobs and further enhance consumer choice within Longridge”.

HOW originally secured outline permission for up to 220 dwellings, a number of residential apartments with care access and an area of commercial office floorspace.
