Polish property listings rise for the first time in two years

The number of dwellings launched for sale in Poland significantly increased for the third consecutive quarter, during Q2 this year, according to the latest quarterly residential property report by REAS.

The firm report that despite strong sales, the number of properties listed on the market in the six largest Polish cities increased significantly to around 44,000 units, which is comparable to the Q3 2013.

Around 14,000 new units were completed during the second quarter, 50% more than in Q1 however, in the past four quarters 41,900 units were sold in the six cities. This is 16% more than in 2007.

Average prices in those cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Tri-City, Poznań and Łódź) are still 13% lower than in Q1 2009 however.

On average, prices decreased slightly in Q2 this year in those cities and further price falls are likely as 2015 is expected to see 64% more completions than this year, according to REAS.
